Luca's professional training started in 1988.
In 1995 he completed a Jazz master diploma (guitar, harmony and arranging.) with Filippo Dacco' at the C.D.M. in Milan.
He studied theory and sight reading with Giovanni Verga at the "conservatorio" G.VERDI in Milan; guitar with Danilo Comerio, Luciano Zadro, Giuseppe Continenza.
Soon afterwards he perfectioned his technique at the European Musicians Institute and through private lessons and workshops with Frank Gambale, Scott Henderson, Joe Dorio, Bireli Lagrene, Vic Juris and Charlie Banacos.
During his career, Luca has worked abroad in a number of occasions. He appeared on several
channels of the italian TV: RAI2, RAI3 and other private channels.

In the first months of 2003 Luca composed and recorded the theme for the first edition of BAFF (Film Festival).
He played in Jazz Festival "Eventi in Jazz 2006" (Luca Urso Jazz Quintet),appearing in the same list as Mike Stern, Benny Golson, Kenny Barron, Dado Moroni...
Luca currently juggle between his live performances (Triooko, Duo Manouche, Luca Urso Trio, L.A.N. TRIO, Luca Urso Jazz Quintet), and his teaching activity “Accademia Musicale di Villa Pomini” ( Castellanza ), “Accademia Musicale Monteverdi” ( Paina di Giussano ), also private lessons and “AMG” Alessio Menconi Guitar Institute, as well as working as a freelance guitarist and arranger in a number of recording studios.
